What are my options concerning replacing my trans in my 89 cadillac eldorado?

I need to replace my trans in my 89 cadillac eldorado V8. Rather than having them rebuild it i was thinking about trying to find a trans in good condition and have them swap it. My question is other than a trans out of a 89 eldorado, what other transmissions would work? Is there a specific kind that will only fit inside ? Any help would be much appreciated.





Thanks.|||The unique thing about the Eldorado is, it's the only v8 pushed front wheel drives Cadillac produced. It will only take the trans that's in it, for the V8 faces forward, instead of the traditional sideways mounted motors. Good luck.
