Can one use any type of lock tumbler in a Cadillac, or must it be a Cadillac of the same year and model?

I want to change the locks on my car. And are these tumblers only sold by cadillac dealers?|||Door lock tumblers generally are the same for a few years. You can buy them at a auto parts store with a key already coded to them, but then you'll have a different key for the doors and for the ignition. If you're trying to have the same key for both, you have to buy the cylinder at the dealer and have it coded to match (doing it yourself is a pain in the a$$)|||Take the locks out and have a locksmith recode them to a different key...much cheaper than buying a whole new set.
