Where is the fuel pump relay located on the 1978 Cadillac seville?

where is the fuel pump relay located on the 1978 Cadillac seville? and aslo i put fuel in the tank than tried to start it. I have come up with a slight problem. The engine only runs for 2-3 sec and than it won't run any more. it will run if I pour fuel into the carb jets for 3 sec but it won't pick up the fuel to keep running. Got any Idea what I can do to fix this?|||If the car has a carburetor there is a mechanical fuel pump NOT a electric one.


Only fuel injected cars use electric fuel pumps.


Start by replacing the fuel filter.


If that does not cure it then do the fuel pump test...





Remove the fuel line from the carb and stick it into a empty gallon jug, like a washer solvent bottle, spray carb cleaner into the carb while a friend starts the car.


Keep spraying the carb cleaner into the carb while the engine is running.


Aftrer 10 seconds or so you should have over 1 qt of gas in the empty bottle.


If not replace your fuel pump.


It will be bolted to the side of the engine block.|||sounds like the pump itself. sounds like the diaphragm is weak in the pump or the fuel filter is partly clogged up.
