I have a 2008 toyota tundra crewmax with flowmaster super 40 exhaust. I want to make it louder. I have 4 total cadillac converters on my truck, so will it be bad if i just took off 2 of the cadillac converters and left 2 on my truck?|||you won't pass an emissions test, if you want to make it louder just install glasspacks.|||no it wont matter but your emmisions level will be alot higher.but other wise than that it wont do the car any harm what so ever|||If you have 4 Cadillac converters, then you should have 4 Cadillacs!!!! You mean "catalytic converters," Do yourself a favor by NOT destroying this wonderfulcar by tampering with it's exhaust system .You will ruin the dynamics and make a crap bucket. If you want a loud truck, then trade it in for an old Chevy pick-up. Your converters are VERY fuel efficient as they are, and tampering with them will cost you fuel mileage and power BOTH, and make you a stink bomb!!! You have O2 sensor on each bank, ahead, and behind the converters. You will screw up your fuel/air balbance and slowly ruin your engine as it creates sludge and dies!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!|||It also won't do the car any good also. You'll not be able to pass any emissions test.
Probably turn your CEL on and if later on you have a real problem, you won't be able to see any change in the Check Engine light to inform you of a new problem.
I believe you only have two catalytic converters and what you are looking at are the resonators.
It's never really good policy to take out or alter the engineered components of a car unless you know what you are doing as far as engineering goes.
