How do you remove stainless molding from 1955 cadillac coupe deville sill cover panel.I removed lower screws,I am assuming spring clips are holding the rest, and a special tool is needed.|||Whatever you do, don't bend it, cause you'll probably not find a replacement part for your 55 Caddy.
If this is the sill trim plate under the door that holds the edge of the carpet in place, I don't remember there being any spring clips. It's just three or four, usually very rusty, sheet metal screws, and the trim plate just lifts up and off. If this is the first time it has been removed since 1955, it could be stuck to the carpet or to the raised seam where the floor and the door frame meet. You might try sliding a thin bladed putty knife between the carpet and the trim plate and see if you can separate the two.
Good Luck!|||Eastwood has the tool you are looking for . 800-345-1178 or eastwood.com.sorry couldn't find the part #
