1998 Cadillac Deville Sedan: How worried should I be about engine problems?

Well I have a good opportunity to buy a 98 Cadillac Deville that's in amazing condition. From what i;ve been reading the Northstar 4.6l v8 engine is very reliable overall but can have head gasket problems which will really screw someone. How common is this for these cars and how worried should I be? Thanks.|||You never know if the car being 13 years old may have already had a head gasket replacement. There are a handful of cars out there that came with this bad head gasket problem because of the cheap build quality. Better more reliable gaskets were made for these cars so you might have it already in your car. Other than that, make sure you always keep up with the cars cooling system. Overheating is one of the biggest reasons that would cause a blown head gasket. Dont stress it man you should be fine.
